PPPoe is required on the modem for DSL service from AT so I don’t think you have to change any settings on the router because the router is connected to the modem and I think that the router assigns the IP address to anything it connects to if you have DHCP on.

There is also a way to use your own modem but AT will still charge you the monthly fee regardless of what you do once you signup for the service.
