INDIANAPOLIS, July 2 (UPI) —David Earl (Swede) Savage, who used to say “my accidents have made a better driver of tile,” died today of burns and injuries suffered in a flaming, wall‐to‐wall crash during the Indianapolis 500‐mile auto race on May 30.

What happened to Mark Donohue?
After going to the hospital in Graz the next day, Donohue lapsed into a coma from a cerebral hemorrhage and died. He was survived by his wife and two sons from his first marriage. Donohue is buried at St. Teresa Cemetery in Summit, New Jersey.
