Woods Staton was born in Colombia, but studied economics at Emory University. After concluding his undergraduate degree in Georgia, he went to Switzerland to study business administration. Following his studies, he began to work as a joint venture partner with the fast food megalith, McDonald's. Before long, Woods Staton became the president of McDonald's South Latin America Division. At the same time, he worked in his grandfather's bottling company, Panamco. This bottling company was known for working with Coca Cola and Staton was eventually selected as CEO. Due to his oversight, Panamco has expanded drastically and McDonald's has grown in nations like Columbia, Chile, Paraguay and Venezuela.
With a current net worth of $1.1 billion, Woods Staton is one of the richest men in Colombia and Latin America. He became a billionaire in just April of 2011. His group currently owns 1,880 outlets in more than 20 nations. Shares in his business are also sold on the New York Stock Exchange. Revenue from his business was at $3.7 billion in 2011 and continues to grow. In his personal life, Woods Staton is noted for his ability to speak Spanish, English and Portuguese. This is due to his father's Brazilian heritage and his Czech Republic-born mother.
