Wolfgang Leitner is an Austrian businessman and billionaire. Since June 29, 1994, he has been serving as the Chief Executive Officer and President at Andritz AG, which is one of the largest engineering groups in Europe. He also serves as a member of the Executive Board of the same company. Besides holding those positions, he also holds about 30 per cent stake in the company, making him the largest individual shareholder.
He got the stake of the company after he led a management coup in the year 1999. Today, he is one of the most financially successful people Austria, and has an estimated net worth of $2 Billion. According to Forbes Magazine, Leitner is the 5th richest person in Austria, and the 736th richest person in the world.

Leitner obtained his doctorate in chemistry and then began his career as a research chemist at Vianova/Hoechst. In 1981, he became a consultant at McKinsey, and a couple of years later he joined Andritz and started working out a restructuring plan for the company. Six years later, he became the company’s chief financial officer. Besides being actively involved in the day-to-day running of Andritz, the 60 plus old billionaire also runs a pharmaceutical company known as Genericon Pharma.
