Tiesto Net Worth $75 Million
Tijs Michiel Verwest is a man that has gone by several aliases, but he is most known for his work under the name DJ Tiesto. The Dutch DJ and music producer has recently dropped the ‘DJ’ tag and now goes by Tiesto, which is a play on his childhood nickname.
The 45 year old was born in Netherlands and at the age of 25, he began producing and releasing material on the Chemo and Coolman label, which was a subsidiary of Noculan Records. Here, he went under the moniker Da Joker and later, DJ Limited. After a series of jumping from label to label, Tiesto created the label Black Hole Recordings with his partner Arny. It’s from this label that other sub labels emerged such as SongBird and In Trance We Trust.
His career has been characterized by a number of memorable events including being the first DJ to play live at the 2004 Olympics in Athens as well as being the first DJ to perform as a solo artiste live on stage. He received official recognition in his home country when in 2004, was awarded the title Officer of the Order of Orange-Nassau by Queen Beatrix of The Netherlands. To top all this, Tiesto received a Grammy Award nomination in 2008.
Apart from music, Tiesto also engages in philanthropy. He performed for free at a fund raising event in Amsterdam in 2005 to aid the Tsunami victims in Asia. He was appointed the official ambassador for the Dance4Life foundation, which focuses on creating and promoting awareness on HIV/AIDS where he has released several successful tracks whose proceeds have been directed towards the fight against HIV/AIDS. Ranked as one of the top DJs in the world, Tiesto has a net worth of $75 million.
