The famous Indian tycoon, Sunil Mittal is the chairman of Bharti Enterprises. He initiated his business career in the year 1976 with the capital of just $320 at the infantile age of eighteen. Though he was young and inexperienced at that time, he was dreaming of something big. The common trait that successful people share is their ability to try hard, congregate their objectives and turn their dream into reality. Today, with the net-worth of $8 Billion, Mr. Mittal is in the list of top ten richest Indians.
There are many who are born rich, but there are a few who become wealthy. Mr. Mittal is one of those individuals who fought hard for his status. He was a common man who started his business by selling cycle parts. In the mid 1990s, he saw a lucrative prospect in telecom sector as India opened-up to the private-sector. After getting officially approved by the Indian Government in the year 1994, he soon launched the cellular service - AirTel, in the capital, Delhi.
“Success belongs to those who dare to achieve it”. Mr. Mittal kept-on getting new licenses and stakes to ultimately expand AirTel’s coverage not only across the nation, but also abroad. Today Bharti is the one of the largest wireless companies having over hundred and ninety million consumers across nineteen countries. Beside telecom, Bharti is thriving in sectors like retails, agribusinesses, and financial services.
Mr. Mittal is one of the three sons of Sat Pal Mittal. He is a married man who has three kids. A golf and yoga enthusiast, Mittal like to spend some peaceful time with his family. Mittal says his family is the biggest asset for him. He has been awarded the Padma Bhushan – the Indian prestigious civilian medal in the year 2007. He is also known for his involvement in the sector of education. Truly, Mr. Mittal is the shining example for those who want to become a successful capitalist.
