Stevie Nicks' Net Worth $75 Million
Native to Phoenix, Arizona, Stevie Nicks learned to sing from her grandfather, Aaron Jess Nicks. By the time she was four years old, she was singing duets with Aaron Nicks. Since she could not pronounce her name, Stephanie, she was given the nickname, Stevie. By the time she was 16, she started to play guitar and writing songs. When she was at Arcadia High School, she took part in the band, “The Changing Times”. Her high school years also introduced her to Lindsey Buckingham. Over the next few years, Lindsey would evolve into Nick's romantic and musical partner. She attended San Jose State University with the intent on becoming an English teacher, but quit school in 1968. After dropping out of school, she moved to Los Angeles to work on her music career.
As an adult, Stevie Nicks became famous as a part of the band, Fleetwood Mac. In the 1980s, she branched out and began her solo career. Out of the variety of songs she has created, she has had 40 songs that hit the top 50 on the Billboard charts. Some of these songs have also been played by other bands like the Smashing Pumpkins. Altogether, she has sold more than 140 million albums around the world. She has accumulated a net worth of $75 million during her career.
In 1998, Nicks was inducted into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame. Throughout her career as a solo artist, she has received eight Grammys. Her solo career officially began with the debut album, Bella Donna, in 1981. This album was certified platinum four times. Following Bella Donna, she released seven more albums. Although she managed to have an extremely successful career, she suffered from addictions to cocaine and tranquilizers.
