Famous around the world for his music style, Steven Tyler was born with the name of Steven Tallarico. As a child, his father exposed him to classical music and was a well-known classical musician in his own right. Once Tyler reached adulthood, he created the band, Aerosmith in 1969. By 1972, Aerosmith signed on with Columbia Records. Through this record label, Aerosmith released a total of 14 studio albums. Out of these albums, nine became platinum certified once or several times. Eight different singles have been top ten hits in the Billboard charts. The song, “I Don't Want to Miss a Thing”, became number one on the Billboard charts.

Through this work, Aerosmith has managed to accumulate 10 MTV Video Music Awards and 4 Grammys. The band was inducted into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame. Outside of his music career, Tyler has appeared on shows like Two and a Half Men and the Simpsons. He was also on Wayne's World. His collaborations have been with artists like Eminem, Run D.M.C. and Alice Cooper. Steven Tyler has received media attention for his addictions to drugs and alcohol. This addiction was ended in 1986 when he went into a drug rehabilitation program. In the 2000s, he relapsed due to prescription pain killers, but was treated for it in 2009.

One of his first serious relationships was with the groupie, Julia Holcomb. In 1975, Tyler convinced her parents to sign guardianship over to him so they could live together. He married Cyrina Foxe and Teresa Barrick, but both of these relationships ended in divorce. Most recently, he was engaged to Erin Brady. In 2013, the couple ended their engagement.
