Stephen Jarislowsky is a Canadian businessman, financier and philanthropist. He is commonly considered to be the “Warren Buffett” of Canada. He is the founder, Chief Executive Officer and Chairman of Jarislowsky Fraser Limited, which is considered to be one of Canada’ largest and most successful investment management companies. The company has more than C$40 billion in assets under management. Jarisowsky’s business ventures have earned him an incredible fortune of $1.66 billion, which makes him one of the wealthiest Canadians today.

Jarislowsky was born on September 1925 in Berlin Germany. In 1941, he moved to the United States, where he acquired his education to the university level. His career started at Alcan Aluminum in Montreal, where he worked as an engineer. On June 1955, he founded Jarislowsky, Fraser & Company Limited. Throughout his business career, Jarislowsky has been an outspoken defender of business ethics. In the year 2002, he co-established the Canadian Coalition for Good Governance alongside Claude Lamoreux.
Besides being a dedicated businessman, Jarislowsky is also an active philanthropist. He has made donations and participated in various cultural, educational and charitable activities.
