Siegfried And Roy Net Worth $120 Million
Siegfried and Roy (also known as Masters of the Impossible) are German born contemporary magicians, who became famous for their appearances with white tigers and white lions. Siegfried Fischbacher was born on June 13, 1939 in Rosenheim, Bavaria, while Roy Ludwig Horn was born on October 3, 1944 in Nordenham, Oldenburg, Germany. They later on moved to the United States, where they became naturalized citizens. This is where they attained their massive fortune that amounts to $120 million through their outstanding performances.
In 1990, Siegfried and Roy formed the “Siegfried & Roy at the Mirage Resort and Casino”, which became quite successful and was considered the most-visited show in Las Vegas, Nevada. In 2003, Siegfried and Roy’s act became the foundation for Father of the Pride, which was a short-lived television series. Their characters were voiced by David Herman and Julian Holloway. They have also appeared on various films and movies including Casino (1995), Vegas Vacation (1997), Oceans Eleven (2001) and Showboy (2002).
Their stage careers were untimely ended after Roy was bitten on the neck by a male tiger named ‘Montecore’, during a performance in October 2003. He was rushed to the Level I trauma centre in Nevada, University Medial Center. Roy was severely injured and lost a lot of blood. As of 2006, he was walking and talking with assistance from Siegfried.
The injury that Roy sustained prompted the closure of The Mirage. About 268 cast and crew members were laid off as a result of the closure. In February 2009, Siegfried and Roy staged their final performance with Montecore. The Father of the Pride series was almost canceled as a result of Roy’s injury, but the duo urged NBC to carry on with its production. They finally retired from show business on April 2010.
