Robert Ziff is one of the three billionaire sons of the late William Ziff Jr. a publishing magnate behind the Ziff Davis media empire. This is a business empire comprising of PC magazine and Car & Driver. Robert has an accumulated fortune that is estimated to amounts to $4.8 billion.
This makes him one of the wealthiest people in the United States. Together with his billionaire brothers Dirk and Daniel, they inherited a massive fortune from their father in the early 90s after his retirement.
The three influential brothers now run an investment company called Ziff Brothers Investments, a New York City-based private business. They invest in equities, real estate, debts, commodities, hedge funds and private equity.
Their investments started by providing seed money to fellow billionaire fund manager Daniel Och. This was in exchange for a 10% stake in his Och-Ziff capital management. This went public in 2007.
In January 2012, reportedly ZBI cashed out its investment in billionaire Edward Lampert’s ESL investments. Following this, Lampert bought a $130 million sears stock from the fund.
The 47 years old billionaire is a graduate from Harvard University and Doctor of Jurisprudence Cornell University, with a Bachelor of Arts / Science. He resides in New York together with his wife and two children.
