Robert Friedland is a Canadian mining magnate and world-renown financier. He is the founder and Chairman of Ivanhoe Capital Corporation, a company that is involved in global capital markets. This privately-held company also has an established focus on up-and-coming markets. Ivanhoe Capital is headquartered in Singapore.
Friedland is also the founder of Ivanhoe Mines, which is a public company that’s listed on the NASDAQ, Toronto and New York exchanges. He founded the company in 1994, and served as its Chairman and later the CEO of the company until 2011. Friedland also served as the Chairman of Galactic Resources Limited. His other corporate leadership positions include: Chairman of Sunwing Holding Corporation, Chairman of Potash One Inc, and Co-Chairman of Diamond Fields Resources Ltd.
