Rishi Kapoor is an Indian actor and film producer who enjoys an estimated net worth of $40 million. He is the 2nd son of renowned director and actor, Raj Kapoor. Rishi made his acting debut in 1970 with Mera Naam Joker which was directed by his father, the legendary Raj Kapoor. His first title role was in 1973 opposite Dimple Kapadia in the blockbuster – Bobby. Rishi made a popular pairing with Neetu Singh (future wife) and the duo delivered huge box office successes like Khel Khel Mein & Kabhie Kabhie. Although the young Kapoor starred in as many as 51 movies as lead hero, only 11 of these films became box office hits.
In the 2000s Rishi Kapoor moved to supporting roles or roles that fit his advancing age. He appeared in films like Hum Tum (2004), Namastey London (2007), Patiala House (2010) etc. He re-united with Neetu Singh and appeared in Do Dooni Chaar in 2010 in a bid to re-kindle the onscreen chemistry of yesteryears. He is still very much active in the film world and as many as 7 – 10 films were scheduled to be released in 2013 – 14.
Rishi Kapoor was always hailed as a fine actor and he won the National Award for Child Artiste in 1971 for his role in Mera Naam Joker. For the same role won the BFJA Special Award in 1970. In 2009 he was honoured by the Russian Government for his contribution to Indian Cinema. Till date he has acted in over 130 films and looks good to continue his run for a few more years.
