Ringo Starr or Richard Starkey is a former Beatles drummer who enjoys an estimated net worth of $300 million. He is an English musician, songwriter and an actor who has gained worldwide recognition for his association with the ever popular Beatles. He sang lead vocals for one song and has also written a couple of Beatle’s songs like ‘Don’t Pass Me By’. He has also co-written a few other songs including ‘Flying’. He has also won a number of awards and recognitions throughout his career including the highly prestigious Member of the Order of the British Empire (MBE).
Ringo was born in Liverpool and as a child he had suffered health problems that forced him to leave school at the age of 13. However, he attended secondary school at Liverpool and did exceedingly well in the field of mechanics and art. In 1962 Starr joined Beatles as a drummer and in the process replaced Pete Best. He had a different style of playing which was mainly due to the fact that he was left-handed but played on a right-handed instrument. However, by this unique style he had inspired a lot of modern day percussion artists.
The Beatles group broke up in 1970 and Starr took this opportunity to embark on a solo career. By 2010 he had released as many as 15 studio albums and he has also collaborated with a number of former artist including former Beatles member, Paul McCartney. He has appeared in few films too and was the narrator for the children’s program, the Shining Time Station, for a couple of seasons. He also bagged an Emmy Award for the show. On the personal front, Starr married Maureen Cox in 1965 and they had 3 children. They divorced in 1975 and six years later, in 1981, he married Barbara Bach.
