The Australian mining tycoon tops our list with a net worth of $17.4 billion. After the death of her father in 1992, Gina took the position of executive chairwoman of Hancock Prospecting Group. She has worked her tail off to ensure Hancock remains a top dog in the mining industry netting approximately $870 million in revenue each year. Gina is also the largest shareholder in Fairfax Media, which boasts a market capitalization of over $5 billion. 

2. Savitri Jindal & Family Net Worth: $7.1 Billion

Savitri Jindal has solidified her footing on the political and business radar. She is the chairperson emeritus of Jindal Group, a conglomerate that was founded by her husband in 1952. Over the years, the company has experienced rapid growth with ventures in many businesses including power generation.  Savitri has also been grabbing headlines on the political realm. In 2013, she got inducted as a cabinet minister in Haryana Government. Her net worth of $7 billion makes her the richest woman in India.

3. Chan Laiwa &Family Net Worth: $6 Billion

She co-chairs MGM one of the key players in casino gaming in China. Pansy Ho is worth $5.6 billion.

5. Yang Huiyan Net Worth: $4.9 Billion

Was Yang Huiyan born with a silver spoon in her mouth? Quite possibly yes. She is the daughter of renowned real estate mogul Yang Guoqiang, who happens to be filthy rich. In 1997, he founded Country Garden Holdings a privately held company which has its spot in Hong Kong’s Stock Exchange. In October 2007, Yang Huiyan was named the richest woman in Asia with a net worth of $16.2 billion; this was after her father transferred 70% of Country Garden’s shares to her. Her net worth has since plummeted to $4.9 billion.

6. Zhang Xin & Family Net Worth: $3.7 Billion

From the throes of poverty to being a billionaire, Zhang Xin’s journey to wealth has inspired many women. After a stint in the banking industry, she decided to try her hand at real estate. In 1995, she  co-founded SOHO China together with Pan Shiyi. The company’s success has been exceptional with 17 of their properties becoming landmark buildings. She is worth $3.7 billion.

7. Wu Yajun & Family Net Worth: $3.3 Billion

Wu Yajun has steadily built an impressive business acumen ever since she graduated from Northwestern Polytechnical University.  She worked as an engineer for two years before shifting her sights to the media industry. The success of her company has catapulted her net worth to $3.3 billion.

8. Indu Jain Net Worth: $2.7 Billion

The 75 year old business magnate chairs Bennett, Coleman & Co. Ltd, India’s largest media group. She inherited a huge chunk of her wealth from Sahu Jain Family, which is believed to be the leading industrialist family in India. Indu Jain is also the chair and founder of The Times Foundation, a development house that promotes equitable and sustainable development.

9. Angela Leong Net Worth: $2.3 Billion

The “King of Casinos” Stanley Ho, has bumped up the bank accounts of two women on our list. His daughter Pansy Ho, and his fourth “wife” Angela Leong whose net worth sits at $2.3 billion.
