Pierre Bellon is French businessman who has an estimated net worth of $4.1 billion. He is the founder and President of Sodexo, a multinational facilities and food service management company. It all started with a small catering outfit in Marseille, his hometown, and he gradually transformed it into the world’s largest catering company, Sodexo. Today the company hires more than 410,000 employees across 80 countries. Pierre Bellon is now the 9th richest person in France.
He had graduated with a degree from HEC Paris and joined a French company in 1958 as a managing assistant. He did very well there and climbed up to become the CEO of the company. In 1966 he founded Sodexho SA. It was re-christened as Sodexo in 2008. Sodexo supplies catering services to NYC medical centers, US military and to the campus of US universities like George Washington University.
In 2005 he left the position of CEO in the company but continues to be as the chairman of the company. It has become a public traded company and it is listed on the New York & Paris stock exchanges. Sodexo is associated with catering services to major sporting events like Ryder Cup & Dakar Road Rally. He has also established a JV with Magic Johnson for dining and supplying food to schools and office cafeterias. .
