Philip Anschutz is a businessman based in the United States with a net worth of $10 billion. Anschutz is a self made billionaire, termed as one of the richest people in Colorado. He graduated from the University of Kansas with a Bachelor of Arts and Science. He began to amass his fortune in early 1960’s, after purchasing his father’s drilling company. Anschutz also diversely purchased shares from different fields for instance stocks, real estate, railroad, entertainment among others.
He owns multiple soccer teams and also co-founded Major League Soccer. His investments extend to family films including “Heroes” and “The Chronics of Narnia”. Anschutz owns a company known as Anschutz Entertainment Group mostly known by its abbreviation AEG. The company owns many sport stadiums in America including the famous Staples centre located in Los Angeles, stakes in the L.A Lakers and kings and London’s O2. AEG is also known as one of the largest presenters of music shows.
Anschutz fired a long time CEO, Tim Lieweke, who was running his company and now runs it himself. In additional, he owns a side empire Xanterra parks & Resorts, the largest Operator of concessions and lodges in Americas National parks. This is estimated to generate $375 million revenue per annum. Anschutz is 74 years old, and he is married with three children.
