Patokh Chodiev is a Belgian entrepreneur and self-made billionaire. He is a co-founder and stakeholder of the Eurasian Natural Resources Corporation (ENRC). Together with his longtime friends and fellow billionaires Alijan Ibragimov and Alexander Machkevich, he established a solid mining and metals empire. ENRC is based in London, and it has become one of the global leaders in the production of iron core, alumina and ferrochrome, merging assets in Africa and Kazakhstan, and also in Eastern Europe and Africa.

Between 1979 and 1989, Chodiev worked as a top specialist in the Soviet-Japanese Economic Relations in the Ministry of Trade of the USSR. Between 1976 and 1979, he worked as a counselor of the Soviet Trade Representation in Japan. Between 1955 and 1997, he worked as a special counselor for the Prime Minister of Kazakhstan.
Additionally, Chodiev is among the founders of a mining investing company known as International Mineral Resources (IMR), intensifying the production of cobalt, copper and ferronickel in South Africa and Zambia. He also sits on the board of directors of the Eurasian Bank, which is one of the leading banks in Kazakhstan. Chodiev’s endeavors have earned him an incredible fortune amounting to $2.1 billion, making him one of the richest people in Belgium. This self-made billionaire is married with two daughters and one son.
