Pansy Ho is a 6.8 billion dollar lady and proudly tops the charts ranking as the richest woman in Hong Kong. She serves as the Chief Executive Officer of Shun Tak - China Travel Shipping Investments Limited and the managing director of many other companies including Sociedade de Turismo e Diversões de Macau.
Ho was born on 26th August 1962 and is one of the 6 children of Stanley Ho, a gambling tycoon and Lam King Ying. She attended an all-girls high school Castilleja School and later on the University of Santa Clara where she graduated with a bachelor’s degree specializing in Marketing and Business.
Ho began her career as an actress in 1981 in the TVB series breakthrough but at 26 she launched her own public relations firm. In 2012, Pansy Ho, the co-chair of MGM China won herself a government approval for her joint venture with MGM Resorts to erect a $2.5 billion Casino. The joint shares jumped nearly 70% giving her the title of the wealthiest woman in Hong Kong when the Casino went public.
Pansy Ho is also connected to 75 board members across 5 different industries in 5 different organizations. Qantas Group and China Eastern Airlines sold a third of their stock in the budget airline to Shun Tak Holdings and led Ho to receive the crown of being the chair of Jetstar in 2013.
Ho was married in 1991 to Julian Hui, the son of a shipping magnate. However, years into their marriage both parties began seeking outside relationships. Ho found herself dating Gilbert Yeung the son of Albert Young; Stanley Ho’s competitor in the hospitality and entertainment industry.
Their relationship ceased on the arrest of Gilbert Yeung in 2000 on allegation of drug possession. In the same year, it was announced that Ho and her husband Julian seek a divorce.
