Nora Roberts Net Worth $170 Million
She could type fast but couldn’t spell. This is how Nora Roberts described her persona. The legal secretary, now a bestselling author, sought an outlet for her creativity after her children were born. A famous blizzard in 1979 forced her to begin writing. She tapped on her creative imagination and drew inspiration from her family members who were avid readers. As she put pen to paper and started jotting down her ideas, she immediately fell in love with writing and came up with manuscripts, which were met with rejection from publishers.
The publishing company Silhouette Books took advantage of her rejection and took her in and Nora’s first novel Irish thoroughbred, was published. She used a shortened version of her name, Nora Roberts, based on her assumption that all romance authors used pseudonyms. She has also published material such as J.D Robb, Jill March and Sara Hardesty.
The founding member of Romance Writers of America has had a string of successes. Since the turn of the century, all her books have been New York Times Bestsellers. The philanthropist donates to The Nora Roberts Foundation, which facilitates organizations that promote literacy. As a multiple award winning romance novelist, Nora Roberts has a fortune of $170 million.
