Travelling by airplane is undoubtedly the best option for fast travel. While most of us are privileged to fly economy class, the 21st century millionaires and billionaires are flying in the comfort of their own private jets. We also list expensive military planes in this list. To get curiosity out of the way, here are the top 10 most expensive planes in the world and their proud owners: -

B-2 Spirit ($735 Million)

The B-2 Spirit, also known as the “Stealth Bomber”, is by far the most powerful and most expensive aircraft in the world. This powerful “beast” has the ability to deploy nuclear weapons, as well as navigate through anti-aircraft measures. The aircraft only fits 2 people, and it was originally designed during the Cold War. It belongs to the United States military and it is estimated to be worth about $735 million.

Air Force One ($660 Million)

Coming in at number two is Air Force One, which costs around $660 million U.S. dollars. If you are amazed by the price of this aircraft, wait until you find out the cost of flying it. Every time the president of the United States takes this plane out for a spin, about $179, 700 is spent per hour. You can now imagine how much it would cost to fly the plane internationally. 

Airbus A340-300 (600 Million)

This super jet named ‘Bourkhan’ belongs to a Russian billionaire by the name of Alisher Usmanov.  As if spending too much money buying it wasn’t enough, Usmanov didn’t mind spending hundreds of millions more on decorating its interior. Airbus A340-300 initially was worth about $240 million, but it is now estimated to cost around $600 million as a result of the luxury remodeling. 

Airbus A380 Super Jumbo Jet (500 Million)

This luxury personal jet is owned by Prince Alwaleed Bin Talal of Saudi Arabia. Prince Alwaleed serves as the Chief Executive Officer of Kingdom Holding Company. The plane has just about everything, from a garage for two automobiles and multiple bedrooms, to a stable and a wellness area, this jet surely has enough room for the prince. 

Boeing 747-430 ($235 Million)

Sultan of Brunei, who is one of the world’s wealthiest monarchs, is the proud owner of the Boeing 747-430. The initial price of the aircraft was about $100 million, and the Sultan spent another $100 million on upgrading its interior. The bedroom, bathroom and living areas are all decorated with crystal and gold, featuring wash basins made from solid gold.

Boeing 747-400 ($220 Million)

Prince Alwaleed bin Talal must be a proud billionaire having two of his planes being considered to be among the top ten most expensive planes in the world. The multi-billionaire bought this plane on 2003, and later customized it to fit his own needs. If he were to sell it off right now, he wouldn’t expect anything short of $220 million.

Boeing 767-33A/ER ($170 Million)

The Boeing 747-33A/ER, also known as “Bandit” is owned by Russian billionaire and Chelsea FC owner, Roman Abramovich. The interior of the plane is reported to be decorated with gold and outfitted with chestnut.

Boeing 747-81 ($153 Million)

Boeing 747-81 is owned by Joseph Lau, who is a multi-billionaire Chinese and real estate investor. The aircraft is not only considered to be one of the most expensive, but it is also considered to be one of the most famous commercial planes in the whole wide world. 

Gulfstream III ($125 Million)

If you love Tyler Perry’s movies, then you will definitely love his plane too. The Gulfstream III is a plane that’s got everything you need when it comes to in-flight entertainment.

Boeing 757 (100 Million)

Guess who’s the owner of this plane? If you guessed Donald Trump, then your guess wasn’t that hard to make considering the fact that his name is splashed on the side of the luxurious plane. You can expect lots of gold on its interior as well.
