Nutella, Tic Tacs, and Kinder, Oh My: How Much is Michele Ferrero Worth?
Answer : $26.5 Billion
Michele Ferrero is the richest man in Italy, valued at just under a quarter of a hundred billion dollars. His wealth certainly wasn’t acquired quickly though. It’s taken him nearly his entire life to reach the level of comfort he has now. Born in April of 1925, he grew up in fairly immoderate conditions, his dad being the owner of a mildly popular chocolate company.
Three decades later, just before his thirtieth birthday, his father handed the business down to him, an eager, young protégé. Now, within half of a century, mostly under Michele’s reign Ferrero SpA has come to be exponentially more successful and ranks in as the fourth-largest manufacturer of chocolate and other sweet products on Earth.
During his time as CEO, he helmed the creation of multiple household name delicacies, including Tic Tacs, as well as Ferrero Rocher and Mon Cheri chocolates. In 1997, his two sons succeeded him as company heads, but Pietro passed away in an accident two years ago, leaving Giovanni Ferrero the sole chairman and CEO. Today, they control almost seventy affiliated companies with a total of 22,000 employees working for them. Michele continues to make money from his longtime profession, and will until the day he dies.
