Mariah Carey Paid $1.5 Million To Perform A Few Songs At Brunei Prince's New Year Party

It was a very happy new year indeed for Mariah Carey as she was paid almost $1.5 Million to sing a few songs at a private party hosted by the son of the Sultan of Brunei. With a net worth of almost $500 Million, Mariah could certainly take things slow and have a day's off for new year. The party was said to have been at the prestigious 5 star Dorchester Hotel.

Mariah was said to have performed alongside Diana Ross another talented singer. In attendance was other celebrities which include actresses Sophia Loren and Faye Dunaway, model Jerry Hall and sex bomb Pamela Anderson. The Brunei prince is known for hosting lavish parties with many famous personalities as his guest.

It appears that this was not the first time that Mariah Carey sang in private parties of the rich and powerful. Sometime ago, it was reported that Mariah also performed for Angolan President Josè Eduardo Dos Santos for $1 Million. 5 years ago, she also gave a New Year's Eve concert to one of the sons of Libyan dictator Muanmar Gaddafi. Mariah apologized a few years later for associating herself to such a brutal regime and offered to give away the money to charity.

Well, being paid $1 Million a night just to perform a few songs, who wouldn't want this kind of offer? We certainly can't blame this singer for trying to make some easy money.
