Macklemore's Net Worth Is $10 Million
Mackelmore, originally named Ben Haggerty, was born on 19th June, 1983 in Seattle, Washington, United States of America. Macklemore, going by the name Professor Macklemore in the initial stage of his music career, is a known rapper. He rose to prominence in the year 2013, when he released the single Thrift Shop, in collaboration with Ryan Lewis. The song ranked atop the Billboard chart, along with the second single that the two of them released, Can’t Hold Us. The fact which is most surprising is that these two are not associated with any major record label, instead they self-produce their tracks under the name Macklemore LLC. After 1994, it is the first time that any track has made it to the Billboard’s peak without any major record label.
Macklemore realised his interest in hip hop at the age of six and he began writing his own raps when he was just fourteen years old. He is said to have been influenced by several artists which include Freestyle Fellowship, Aceyalone, Living Legends, Wu-Tang Clan, Nas and Talib Kweli. His first EP was launched in the year 2000, when he was seventeen. In 2005, he released his first official album which was named The Language of My World and then in the year 2009, he dropped in another of his mixtapes, named The Unplanned Mixtape.
Then he went on and shook hands with Ryan Lewis, who later became very good friends with him, and released his first official studio album, The Heist in 2012. The album proved to be a crucial milestone in their careers and was a huge success, on American as well as international charts. The album went Platinum in the United States and got Macklemore and Lewis nominated for Album of the Year and Best Rap Album in the 56th Annual Grammy Awards. Macklemore is reportedly said to be “back in lab” with Lewis, for their next album, however no other details are out yet. The total net worth of Macklemore is estimated to be $10 million.
