After tasting success at such an early age, Lil Wayne was certainly hungry for more.

The rapper reached the pinnacle of his career when he dropped Tha Carter III. The album sold over a million copies in its first week. It epitomized Lil Wayne’s high status in the Hip Hop industry. It only got better when the album won the Grammy Award for the Best Rap Album category. After that, Lil Wayne ventured into unknown territory. He released a rock album titled Rebirth. It received a lukewarm response.

Lil Wayne stared death in the eyes when he shot himself with a gun accidentally.  He was lucky to have an off-duty officer near him to take him to the hospital. Tha Carter V will be his last album. He has confirmed it on 2 occasions; once in 2012 and most recently in March 2014 during his interview with Elliot Wilson.
