Leslie Wexner is a Russian-Jewish tycoon, who has an estimated net worth of $4.5 billion. He serves as the Chairman and Chief Executive Officer of Limited Brands Corporation, and he is currently considered to be the richest man in Ohio.
He is also the owner of various successful and renowned establishments including La Senza, Pink, Victoria Secret, Henri Bendel and Bath body works and their parent company, L Brand. In Columbus, he is chiefly responsible for building the retail economy, which is the current home to the corporate campuses of Abercrombie & Fitch and L brand.
Wexner was born on 8th September, 1937 in Dayton, Ohio. He used a loan of $5,000 which he borrowed from his aunt to open a limited store in 1963. In 2007, he sold the limited stores, later in 2013 changing the name of his parent company to L Brands. Wexner Victoria Secret Brand has more than 1,000 stores inclusive of the first one outside North America.
Wexner began a lunch meeting with a number of business leaders in town, which evolved into the Columbus Partnership. He is part of top executive of almost every major player in the Columbus economy, together with Republican governor and Democratic mayor. Their aim is to build a better city.
Wexner is also a renowned philanthropist, who has contributed millions of dollars to numerous charitable organizations. In 1989, he and his mother were the first to donate a total of $1 million to the United Way. Their names were inscribed in marble and are displayed in the lobby of the United Way headquarters in Alexandria, Virginia.
Wexner is a graduate from Ohio State University with a Bachelor of Arts / Science. He is married to Abigail S. Koppel, whom he married in 1993. Together they have four children namely Sarah, David, Hannah and Harry.
