That is an easy one; it is the giant JPMorgan Chase with an asset base of $2.4 trillion. This veteran financial institution is not just a bank; it also specializes in asset management and private equity among other financial services. However, JPMorgan Chase has not always been as massive as it is today; it has grown through the merging of more than 1200 financial institutions since its initial predecessor was established in 1799. As a result, the institution now boasts of more than 260,000 employees in 60 countries around the world. Notwithstanding, JPM reached an agreement with US authorities to pay $2 billion to investors for its role in the Bernie Madoff scandal.
