Kwee brothers made it on to the Forbes list of the Singapore’s 50 richest people with a net worth of $5.2 Billion as of August 2013. Forbes has ranked them at #5 in the list of Singapore’s 50 richest people and at #272 in the list of the world’s richest billionaires.
The eldest of the four brothers is the chairman of property developer and hotel operator conglomerate, Pontic Land. The Kwee brothers own and operate some of the biggest hotels in Singapore, including Regent, Ritz-Carlton, Capella and Conrad Centennial.
The family holds 50% stake in an upcoming $600 million development, Capitol Center. The Kwee brothers have planned to open the first hotel of Patina Hotels & Resorts in Capital Center. It has also been reported the that Kwee brothers have planned to venture into the international market by buying into a Manhattan skyscraper project.
The foundation of Pontic Land was laid by Henry Kwee, father of the Kwee brothers. The 36 years old Evan Kwee the grandson of Henry Kwee belongs to the third generation Kwees.
Passionate about designs and luxury hotels, Kwee is instrumental in bringing hotel living to residential development in Singapore. Evan Kwee recently got married to Claudia, daughter of Peter Sondakh, the 8th richest man in Indonesia.
