He first entered the entertainment business and got famous in 1968, when he won a music event in Spain called Benidorm International Song Festival. He also participated in various music contests. But it was his performance at the 1970 Eurovision Song Contest that made him successful in Europe. Julio Iglesias also started to make a name for himself in the United States around the 1980’s. He became prominent in the 70’s and 80’s, and hasn’t been forgotten since. He has continued to tour around the world to promote his music, for over 40 years.

He decided to move to the US after the annulment of his marriage to ex-wife, and it turned out to be a great decision; he signed a contract with CBS International and soon started to record non-Spanish albums that sold more than four million copies in the US alone. After Numero 1 (his latest album) came to be, the Spanish singer performed a concert in the Republic of Equatorial Guinea, where the admission tickets sold for $1,000 each. His net worth, as of today, is $300 million. And to prove that good looks run in the family, this attractive Spaniard is also the father of famous pop singer Enrique Iglesias.
