John McCall MacBain is a Canadian businessman, investor and philanthropist. He is the founder of the McCall MacBain Foundation and Pamoja Capital SA. He is also the founder of Trader Classified Media, which is considered to be the leading classified advertising company in the world. Before establishing this company, MacBain served as the Director of Marketing at Power Financial from 1984 to 1987.
Between 1987 and 2006, MacBain served as the President and Chief Executive Officer of Trader Classifieds Media. The company had its IPO in 2000, after which it was publicly traded on NASDAQ and the Euronext Paris Stock Exchange. MacBain sold the company in 2006 and established the McCall MacBain Foundation. His business ventures have earned him a massive fortune of $1.33 billion, which makes him one of the wealthiest people in Canada.
