Jean Claude Van Damme Net Worth $30 Million

The Belgian actor has a net worth of $30 million. He has accumulated that amount of money starring in several action movies. His roundhouse kick is renowned all over the world. Some of the movies where he has kicked ass are Bloodsport, Universal Soldier, Street Fighter, The Expendables 2 etc. The actor was born in the capital of Belgium to Eliana and Eugene Van Varenberg.

Since an early age, Van Damme was an extremely dedicated individual; he started martial arts when he was 10 years old. He was awarded for his discipline with a black belt in karate. He was in cloud nine to be a part of the Belgium Karate Team which won the European Karate Championship in 1979.

In order to bulk up his lean frame, Van Damme started lifting weights and it paid off. He won a Mr. Belgium bodybuilding title. The actor credits his ballet classes to have helped him build endurance for intense workouts.

The actor’s breakthrough came from the movie Bloodsport. With a modest budget of only $1.5 million, the movie performed exceptionally well. After that, producers started taking notice of his familiarity with martial arts and regularly cast him in action oriented movies. Van Damme wasn’t complaining for roles in other genres; he stuck to doing what he did best.

The actor hasn’t found much success finding his perfect wife. He has been married to 4 women. There were silver linings in the failed marriages though. Van Damme became a father to 3 children. Currently, he is married to Gladys Portugues; he re-married her in 1999 after their split up in 1992.

He is known for his Belgian accent and his super flying kicks. The actor once admitted to learning English by watching The Flintstones. Van Damme has also had the honor of being the sparring partner of Chuck Norris in the early 80s.
