Born on September 9th, 1960, Hugh John Mungo Grant is a British actor and producer. This actor shot to fame when, in 1994, he acted in the movie Four Weddings and a Funeral, written by Richard Curtis. During 1999 to 2006, he cashed his breakthrough and worked in a variety of movies that include Mickey Blue Eyes (1999), Notting Hill (1999), Bridget Jones Diary (2001), About a Boy (2002), and American Dream (2006). Grant is also a successful producer and has received several awards including a Golden Globe Award, a BAFTA Award, and an Honorary César. The movies that he has produced have made over $2.4 billion worldwide.
Grant made his debut as Hughie Grant with the Oxford-funded movie Privileged, in the year 1982. He then switched between varieties of jobs until he got his first lead role in the Edwardian drama, Maurice. In this movie, he played the role of a gay who, after the rejection from his lover, tries to face the reality and accept his sexuality, in an oppressive Edwardian society. For this movie, Grant and his co-star James Wilby shared the Volpi Cup for the best actor at the Venice Film Festival. Grant also made appearance in several television shows, making cameo appearances in many fims. During 1987, when Grant was working in the movie Romando Al Viento, he met Elizabeth Hurley, who was cast in a supporting role in the same movie. The two of them started dating and after spending 13 years together, they mutually decided to part ways in the year 2000. However, Grant is godfather to Hurley’s son Damian, who was born in 2002. In 2004, he started dating Jemima Khan and in the year 2007, the couple split amicably. Grant is said to have had a “fleeting affair” with a Chinese woman, Tinglan Hong and the couple has a son, Felix Chang, and a daughter, Xiao Xi.
