Boasting of an estimated net worth of $500 million, Howard Stern received his notoriety due to his role on radio shows in the United States. Before he started his own radio show, Howard Stern attended school at Boston University and began his career in radio. Following this, he started working with WNTN in 1975 in the city of Newton, Massachusetts. From this point, he continued working at other radio stations before he took up a 20 year long position at WXRK in New York City.

He initially became famous for “The Howard Stern Show”. On the nationally syndicated program, Howard Stern portrayed controversial viewpoints. Due to the outspoken nature of the radio show, Howard Stern was fined by the FCC for indecency charges. After these charges, Howard Stern switched to working for Sirius satellite radio where he could speak in an uncensored format. At his highest level of success, Howard Stern had 20 million audience members from across 60 different markets. 

In 1993, Howard Stern received a $1 million advance from Simon & Schuster for a biographical book. Titled, Private Parts, it hit the bookshelves on October 7 of the same year and went on to sell 225,000 copies within the first few hours. Overall, it became the quickest-selling title in the history of that publishing company. It was adapted in a film format and Howard Stern played himself in the movie. Released in 1997, the film ended up earning $14.6 million on the opening weekend.

Overall, the film sold a total of $41.2 million in movie tickets. Throughout his career, Howard Stern has managed to be the highest-paid radio personality in America. For his television career, he has served as a judge on America's Got Talent. His position as a judge earns him a salary of roughly $15 million every year.
