Glenn Dubin Net Worth : $1.8 Billion
Born on 13th April, 1957 to a humble family of a taxi driver and a hotel administrator, Dubin may not have envisioned the great success that was awaiting him later on in life. His father was of Russian-Jewish descent, while his mother was an Austrian-Jewish immigrant. In 1978, Dubin graduated from Stony Brook University with a degree in economics.
While at the university, he was a member of the school’s lacrosse and football teams. Dubin’s professional career began in 1978 at E.F. Hutton & Co, where he worked as a retail stock broker. In 1984, his childhood friend and later on his business partner, Henry Swieca, joined him to establish a hedge fund firm known as Dubin & Swieca.
Eight years later, the duo started Highbridge Capital Management, a New York-based institutional alternative asset management firm, which currently manages about $27 billion in capital.
Towards the end of 2004, Dubin sold a majority of his stake in Highbridge to J.P. Morgan Asset Management, a transaction that was reportedly worth more than $1.3 billion.
Dubin stepped down as Chief Executive Officer of the company in 2013, but retained his position as Chairman of the board. He also served as the board chairman of the Robin Hood Foundation. Forbes currently ranked Dubin as the 340th richest person in the United States with an estimated net worth of $1.8 billion.
This 56-year old self-made billionaire is married to Dr. Eva Anderson, who is a former Miss Sweden (1980). Dubin and Eva have been blessed with three children, and they reside in New York, NY.
