German businessman Friedhelm Loh who owns the Loh Group has an estimated net worth of $2.6 billion. The Loh Group, under its umbrella, has a number of companies that is focused on steel and technology. Friedhelm is not only the owner; he also serves as the Chairman of the Friedhelm Loh Group. He is holding this position since 2006. He is also the Vice-President of BDI and the President of the Central Association of the Electrical & Electronics Industry.
Friedhelm Loh inherited the company from his father when he died in 1974. But before that, Loh completed his education with a degree in Business Administration. He started working for some companies in the electrical installation industry. In 1974 he took over the management of Ritto Rittal, the largest company in the Loh Group. At that point of time it had only 200 employees. But today it employs more than 11,000 employees of which 10, 000 are working for Rittal only.
Friedhelm Loh is also well known for his philanthropic activities. He set up the Rittal Foundation on the 50th anniversary of the company and also established the Christian Media Foundation which is known for publishing Christian literature. He is an avid collector of antique cars. Mr Loh is now based in German and he lives in Haiger with his wife and three children.
