Eric Clapton's Net Worth Is $200 Million
Born on March 30, 1945, Eric Clapton holds the impressive record of being the only person to be inducted into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame three times. Within the hall of fame, he is included with two different bands and as a solo artist. Native to Surrey, England, Clapton was a part of the bands Cream and the Yardbirds. When he was just 17, he created the band, “The Roosters”. By 1966, he formed a new band known as “Cream”. This band would eventually become one of the best rock bands of its generation. Following their rising popularity in the United Kingdom, Cream went to the United States to start touring in 1967.
Unfortunately, this tour was stopped due to substance abuse and frequent arguments between band members. By 1968, Cream was disbanded. Some of his most recognized songs were “Crossroads” and “Layla”. His significant success led him to be ranked 53rd on Rolling Stones top 100 artists list. It is estimated that Eric Clapton has a net worth of $200 million. This net worth is derived from his property, touring income, his holding company and stock shares. In his personal life, Eric Clapton married Patti Boyd in 1979. During their marriage, Clapton had an affair and a daughter with Yvonne Kelley. After his second affair with model, Lory Del Santo, Boyd and Clapton sought a divorce in 1988.
His affair resulted in a son, Conor, in 1986. When Conor was only four years old, he fell out of a high-rise tragically. Depressed, Clapton wrote the song, “Tears in Heaven”. Later, Clapton married Melia McEnery and went on to have three more daughters. In his free time, Eric Clapton served as the director of the Clouds House treatment center from 1993 to 1997. From 1994 to 1999, he was on the board for the Chemical Dependency Center. Formerly addicted to drugs, he focuses most of his time on charities that help drug and alcohol addiction.
