With a net worth of $150 million, Engelbert Humperdinck is quite well-off. He was born in India under the name, Arnold George Dorsey. Many of his top hits were created in the 1960s and 1970s. Some of these hits include “Quando, Quando, Quando”, “The Last Waltz”, “Release Me” and “There Goes My Everything”. Although he was born in India, his ethnicity is not Indian. His father was a British Army Officer who served in India. When Humperdinck was ten years old, his family moved back to England. At a young age, he started to play the saxophone and singing.

During the 1950s, he began to play at night clubs and even entered a pub contest. During these early years, he worked under the name of “Gerry Dorsey”. His career was briefly interrupted when he was called to duty for the Britain's Royal Corps of Signals. By 1958, he received a chance to record with Decca records. Although his first single was not a success, his efforts ten years later were commercially successful. In 1964, Engelbert Humperdinck married Patricia Healy. Together, the couple had four children and managed to maintain an active family life. In addition to his work in the music industry, Humperdinck invested in real estate throughout the world.

One of his most notable investments was the Pink Palace. After buying this property in the 1970s, he later sold it in 2002 for $4 million. Unfortunately for Humperdinck, his music career was temporarily sidetracked in 1961 when he developed tuberculosis. Although he regained his health quickly, it was difficult for him to restart his nightclub career. Part of his success was due to his new name and for taking part in the 1966 Knokke song contest. For a brief period of time, he even ran a television series called, “The Engelbert Humperdinck Show”.
