Dietmar Hopp is a German entrepreneur (software) who has an estimated net worth of $7 billion. He is one of the four co-founders of the German software company, SAP, and helped to build it into a large organization that we know today. All the founders of SAP along with Dietmar are former colleagues of IBM. He served as a CEO of the company for 10 long years (1988 – 1998). He then became the Chairman of the Supervisory Board, a position which he held till 2003. In 2005 he announced his retirement from the SAP board.

In 2006 Hopp decided to transfer almost 70% of his wealth to a charitable foundation by the name of Dietmar-Hopp-Stiftung. This foundation became one of the largest charitable organizations in Europe. It supports social programs, sports and medicine. The entrepreneur is highly respected in Germany and the street on which the SAP headquarters is located has been renamed as Dietmar-Hopp-Allee.
In 2000 he came into the spotlight when he decided to financially support the renowned German soccer club, TSG 1899 Hoffenheim. As per reports, he also owns a luxury golf resort, as well as a beautiful home in the US. He is married with 2 children and generally resides in Waldorf, Germany.
