David Caruso was born in Forest Hills Gardens, Queens, New York on January 7th, 1956. He is the son of Joan, who worked as a librarian and Charles Caruso, a magazine and newspaper editor. As a child, Caruso had to compromise on a fatherly figure, because his father left when he was just two years of age. He worked as a cinema usher in a local hall to meet his needs, which became the place where he found his inspiration for acting in Humphrey Bogart, James Cagney and Edward G. Robinson.

Caruso grew up as a Roman Catholic and attended Our Lady Queen of Martyrs Catholic School in Forest Hills. He graduated in 1974 from Archbishop Molloy High School and made his debut as Danny in the film Getting Wasted in the year 1980. David caught the people’s eye when he played Daniels in An Officer and a Gentleman and gained most of his fame as Lieutenant Horatio Caine on the TV series CSI: Miami. He has played several supporting roles in many films including China Girl and Blue City. In the early 90’s, Caruso was able to get his first main role in the TV show NYPD Blue where he portrayed Detective John Kelly, for which he received a Golden Globe award. However, when he was at the top of his game, he decided to leave NYPD Blue to pursue a film career but things didn’t work out as he wanted them to and Caruso had to head back to television.

David Caruso married twice and he has a daughter, Greta with his second wife, Rachel Ticotin. Caruso and his ex-wife, Liza Marquez have two children, a daughter and a son. In 2009, his ex-wife dragged him to the court for a case of fraud, breach of their settlement and emotional distress. The net worth of this all-time celebrity is $35 million.
