Clayton Riddell is a Canadian oil & gas magnate and currently the 16th richest person in the country. He is the President and Chief Executive Officer of Paramount Resources, a Calgary, Alberta-based company that he founded. He is also a co-owner of the Calgary Flames as well as high-end Calgary restaurant, Catch. This self-made billionaire’s business endeavors have earned him an incredible fortune of $3.2 billion.

Riddell once served as the Chairman of the Canadian Association of Petroleum Producers, as well as the President of the Canadian Society of Petroleum Geologists. The University of Manitoba named the Clayton H. Riddell Faculty of Environment, Earth and Resources in his honor. This was after Riddell made a donation of $10 million towards the creation of endowment fund for the faculty. In the year 2008, he was made an Officer of the Order of Canada.
Riddell presently owns stakes in not less than ten publicly traded energy companies such as MGM Energy, Trilogy Energy Trust, and Perpetual Energy Inc, with Paramount being among the largest holdings.
