Born on September 25, 1952, Christopher Reeve was a noted actor and director. He worked as an activist and screenwriter during his lifetime. Although he died in 2004, Christopher Reeve has achieved an ongoing fame for his acting work as Superman. He grew up in New York City and New Jersey. As a child, he attended Princeton Day School and excelled in sports and academics.When he was just nine years old, he fell in love with acting following a role in a student play, the Yeoman of the Guard. Following this, he had an apprenticeship with the Williamstown Theater Festival and performed in A View From the Bridge.
He went on to attend Cornell University and began performing in stage productions. During his senior year, he chose to study at Julliard before he received his degree. Following his graduation, Reeve began to perform in Broadway shows. His first television role was in Love of Life. Reeve's first film role was a small part in the 1978 film, Gray Lady Down. He went on to play the lead in Superman I, II, III and IV. Outside of acting, Christopher Reeve has been an activist about spinal cord injuries. This was inspired due to his own experience as a quadriplegic following an equestrian accident.
Christoper Reeve married Dana Morosini in April 1992 and the couple had a son named William Elliot Reeve who was born on June 7, 1992. Reeve died on October 10, 2004 from cardiac arrest. His wife Dana, was diagnosed with lung cancer on August 9, 2005. She died at age 44 on March 6, 2006. The couple is gone now but they are not forgotten.
