Cher Wang is an entrepreneur from Taiwan who has an estimated net worth of $2.5 billion. She is the chairperson and co-founder of HTC Corporation and VIA Technologies, the chipset maker. HTC is a known name across the world and in the US it manufactures 1 out of every 6 smartphones that are sold in that country.
She is regarded as one of the most powerful women in technology and her father, Wang Yung-Ching, was one of the wealthiest individuals in Taiwan before he died in 2008.
HTC is the largest smartphone and tablet maker in Taiwan and is chaired by Cher Wang. It started off by manufacturing devices that operated on Windows Mobile OS but from 2009 it focused mainly on Android OS.
