Born on the 24th day of February 1974 in Portsmouth, Virginia, Chad Hugo is an American record producer, songwriter and musician with a net worth of $55 million and alongside his partner in production Pharrell Williams, Hugo has produced countless top-of-the-chart hit tracks.
Best known as the other half of the Neptunes, Chad Hugo is also a member of the N.E.R.D. group – an American hip hop, rock and funk band. The Neptunes – Chad and Pharrell – met while aged 12 at a music summer camp that they both had one feeling for – they disliked it. The two then began working hand in hand, playing and mixing in different live bands.
What really broke Chad Hugo though was when he, alongside Pharell Williams, earned songwriting and production projects with artists like Mystikal and N.O.R.E.; projects that immediately bore fruits and that paved the way for them to meet and produce for huge artists like Jay-Z as well as Hugo signing a deal with BMG Music Publishing. In 2002, Chad Hugo, Pharrell Williams and the Neptunes were named producers of the year during the Source Awards and the Billboard Music Awards. They repeated the same feat in August the next year; but this time releasing an album titled “The Neptunes…Clones” that debuted as a no.1.
In 2011, Hugo made a partnership with Daniel Biltmore and formed the Missile Command, a DJ team. The two then signed a deal to release Fool’s Gold Records music; and as of now, they have gone ahead and released two mixtapes: “Foolcast #22” in 2011 and “Why Fight the Space Age?” in 2013. Hugo also owns an alternative band called “No Planes In Space” together with Paul Banks. Chad Hugo is married to Rachel and currently they have two kids, one born in 1998 and another in 2000.
