Bruce Flatt is the current Chief Executive Officer of Brookfield Asset Management, which is an international empire that’s worth over $175 billion. He has been serving as the CEO of the multinational company since February 2002. Since November 2010, he has been serving as Chairman and director of the Board of GGP. Flatt has an estimated net worth of $729 million, which makes him one of the richest people in Canada.
Flatt joined Brookfield Asset Management in 1990 and has remained studiously non-controversial ever since he took over the leadership of the conglomerate. The company manages over 300 million square feet of real estate, more than 48 million square feet of Industry property, over 50,000 apartments, over 100 malls and about 8,000 acres of land that’s waiting to be developed.
In the couple of years that Flatt has been in-charge of this multinational, it has emerged as the biggest owner of prime office space in the world. It boasts to have some of the most prestigious towers on the Manhattan skyline, and its over 165 power plants make up one of the biggest hydroelectric portfolios. Flatt, on behalf of the corporation, serves as the Chairman and director of General Growth Properties Inc. He holds a Business Degree from the University of Manitoba.
