Bone Thugs n Harmony is an American hip-hop group that boasts an estimated net worth of $45 million. The group, made of five rappers Layzie Bone, Krayzie Bone, Wish Bone, Bizzy Bone and Flesh-N-Bone comes from Cleveland, Ohio and it came into being in 1992.
In 1993, Eazy-E, an American West-Coast hip hop artist and a former member of the rap group N.W.A., signed Bone Thugs n Harmony to the Ruthless Records music label and the group went on to release their debut album called Faces of Death and later to be followed by another hit album the next year called Creepin on ah Come Up that included their hit single known as Thuggish Ruggish Bone, which ranked at number 22 on Billboard Hot 100 chart and number 2 on Hot Rap Tracks chart.
Another album that contributed largely to swelling bank accounts of the Bones was 1995’s E. 1999 Eternal. It featured hit songs like East 1999, 1st of the Month, and The Crossroads, which won them a Grammy Award in 1997. All together, the group has sold over 17 million copies in the U.S., with their 2006 release, Thug Stories their best-selling album, racking up 38,000 sales in its first week.
According to About.com, Bone Thugs n Harmony is 12th best in their list of the best 25 rap groups ever while MTV rates them as the most melodic hip hop group ever. Furthermore, the group’s works have seen them nominated for the Grammy Awards on two other occasions, four times for the American Music Awards and won two of them, as well as four other nominations for MTV Video Music Awards.
Bone Thugs n Harmony released its latest album, a third of The Art of War series, in May 2013 and is set to release another this coming year, titled E. 1999 Legends.
