Being a successful rapper certainly has its benefits. When you consider the $40 Million that Big Boi reportedly has in his bank account, you will definitely agree with me.
Born as Antwan Andre Patton on the 1st day of February 1975 in Georgia, U.S., Big Boi’s wealth has come from being a producer, actor, rapper and song writer that saw him become one half of the most successful hip hop duo called OutKast.
Alongside his OutKast partner Andre 3000, Big Boi signed with LaFace Records, went ahead, and released 6 platinum albums and a solo album in 2010 that saw respectable sales as well as gain critical acclaim. This album was called Sir Lucious Left Foot: The Son of Chico Dusty.
His studio efforts did not stop with the release of his first album. Big Boi’s love for hip hop music continued to drive him and in December 2012, he released a studio album called Vicious Lies & Dangerous Rumors. Apart from being one half of the famous group OutKast, Big Boi has also featured on tracks by Jay-Z, Missy Elliot, Trick Daddy, Killer Mike, Brooke Valentine, Beyoncé, Sleepy Brown and Fantasia.
Big Boi’s heroics on the acting scene were evident when he featured in Wild ‘n Out, Idlewild, Chappelle’s Show, ATL, Who’s Your Caddy, and Law and Order: Special Victims Unit. Off the scenes, Big Boi is a family man who is happily married to Sherlita Patton since 2002, together with whom they have two children: a son called Cross and a daughter called Jordan.
