Bent Jensen Net Worth $1.1 Billion
Boasting of a net worth of $1.1 billion, Bent Jensen is a recent addition to Forbes list of billionaires. His interest in machinery developed when he was just a young child. Jensen's grandfather founded a business in 1907 that created pulleys, forges and other machinery. Encouraged by his young experience with the field, Bent Jensen enrolled at the University of Southern Denmark.
After his graduation with a degree in mechanical engineering, he began working in the family company, Linak, in 1976. Enthusiastic and driven, Jensen increased company sales of linear actuators. This device is required in industrial equipment, furniture and hospital beds to power items in a linear motion.
It was first sold by Linak in 1979 and became one of the company's largest sellers. Modern applications of linear actuators are used with solar panels so that the panels can track the movement of the sun. Due to his work and role as the current owner, Bent Jensen stepped into a position as the CEO of Linak.
The company has $390 million in annual sales and is valued at over $1 billion. When Bent Jensen first took over the company, Linak only had seven full-time employees. In 2006, Linak opened its first factory in China.
