Augusto Perfetti and Giorgio Perfetti Net Worth : $7.2 Billion
Augusto Perfetti and Giorgio Perfetti are Italian brothers and heirs to the confectionery giant Perfetti Van Melle. They are currently the 7th wealthiest individuals in Italy with a net worth of $7.2 billion. The Perfettis inherited the company from their father Ambrogio Perfetti and their uncle Egidio Perfetti who founded it in 1946.
At the time it was trading as Dolcificio Lombardo and manufacturing the ever popular Brooklyn chewing gum known to Italians as ‘la gomma del ponte’-the chewing gum of the bridge. Since then, the company has grown by leaps and bounds under the leadership of Augusto and Giorgio with their main strategy being the acquisition of their competitors. Their most recent merger was with Netherlands’ Van Melle and Spain’s Chupa Chups to form what is now known as Perfetti Van Melle.
The brothers now no longer run the business but theirs is a well deserved rest as they have steered the company to where it is now. The company boasts of a workforce of over 19,000 employees and supplying confectionery to over 39 countries. They reside in Switzerland and consequently very little is known about their personal lives however, it is believed that Augusto Perfetti owns a super-yacht known as Ice.
