Antonia Johnson is considered to be one of the wealthiest women in Sweden and has an estimated net worth of $8.5 billion. She is the heiress of the diversified trading company, the Axel Johnson Group which was founded in 1873. The company is fully privately owned and has interests in food, industrial products, real estate, energy & telecom. The Group is said to be valued in excess of $11 billion.
The Axel Johnson group also has a 46% stake in Axfood AB which is regarded as one of the largest food companies in the Scandinavian region. Antonia is the Chairman of both Axel Johnson Inc & Axel Johnson AB. She is actively involved with a number of charitable organizations including the World Childhood Foundation which was founded by the Swedish Queen. Antonia is widely regarded as a well-educated woman with a philanthropic heart.
Antonia was born in New York in 1943 and graduated from Radcliffe College in Cambridge (Massachusetts) where she was an exchange student in the early 1960s. She completed her master’s degree in psychology & economics from the reputed Stockholm University. She has been awarded the honorary PhD in Civil Law by Bishop’s University, Canada. The 70-year old businesswoman is now a mother of four and resides in Stockholm.
